We are thrilled to be hosting our first-ever Free Korean Dogs 5K Freedom Walk. Please join us as we walk together to free all dogs from lives of pain and suffering. Our route is designed for people of all abilities, whether you choose to walk 1K or the entire 5K route.

The walk will be followed by an outdoor picnic and flea market, so participants can relax, have a snack/lunch, and socialize with other participants and dogs.

100% of proceeds will help support the medical, training, and shelter costs of dogs, rescued from the dog meat trade. All are welcome, including friends, family, and dogs!

  • When: Saturday, September 7th, 2019
  • Time: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
  • Where: High Park (1873 Bloor St W, Toronto, ON M6R 2Z3) Picnic area 15 (see map attached)
  • Registration at 9:15 AM. Walk at 10 AM and events (flea market and picnic) follow.

Founder and Executive Director, Free Korean Dogs

Originally from South Korea, EK moved to Canada in 2002. Despite a career in visual media, her passion for advocating for vulnerable animals grew stronger. Volunteering with local rescues like Toronto Street Cats, she felt a deeper calling. Everything changed during a visit to her family in Korea when she witnessed the harsh truth of the dog meat trade's cruelty towards defenseless dogs. This experience led to the birth of Free Korean Dogs, driven by her mission to raise public awareness and protect these animals.
