Background: Winnie and his sister, Jinju, along with their mother, were rescued from a city pound in Chuncheon, Korea, last November. Since then, they have been living safely at our partner boarding house with other dogs.
Personality and Socialization: Winnie is a gentle, quiet, and shy boy with a calm demeanor. Initially skittish after his rescue, he has slowly begun to trust and open up. Now, he will approach familiar shelter staff, sit beside them, and even wag his tail in recognition. Winnie finds comfort in cuddling with other dogs, particularly those of similar size with friendly, submissive personalities. While he remains reserved, his emerging affection shines through. Winnie has no experience with children or cats.
Behaviour: Winnie handles car rides, vet checkups, and baths with grace, though he may be a bit nervous. He hasn’t had the opportunity to go on leash walks yet but shows no destructive behaviors. He loves treats and enjoys playing with other dogs.
Health and Diet: Winnie is neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. He takes monthly parasite prevention and eats dry kibble twice a day and has no known allergies.
Ideal Home: Winnie would thrive with someone experienced in caring for shy dogs who can patiently guide him as he learns to trust. A home with another gentle, friendly dog is ideal for him, as it would offer companionship and help build his confidence through positive interactions. A quiet neighborhood and a relaxed lifestyle would suit him best. Winnie is eager to learn and, with patience and gentle encouragement, will surely blossom into a loyal and loving companion.
