**Note: Tarae is available for adoption in Vancouver. His flight from Korea to Vancouver is scheduled for March 25.

Background: Tarae is among the lucky 16 canines rescued from a difficult hoarding situation, where an elderly individual had confined them in a residence without proper care. Due to the senior’s illness, she had no choice but to surrender them.

Living Environment: Since November, Tarae has been living with a foster family of two female adults with no other pets in an apartment.

Personality: Tarae is very gentle, calm, and friendly. He has shown no aggression, is very quiet indoors, and is independent. He is gentle around people and enjoys belly rubs. He prefers gentle affection over big hugs and kisses.

Behavior: He loves going for a walk; he doesn’t pull and has good leash manners. Tarae enjoys sniffing and meeting new dogs during his walk. He is good with taking a bath and brushing. He gets nervous in the car but does better if held. Tarae is house-trained and has no separation anxiety. He is fine with both men and women.

Socialization: Tarae is shy at first, but once he gets to know them, he becomes friendly. He is fine meeting strangers outdoors when walking. When he was rescued, he was very shy and easily scared, but not anymore. Tarae is good with other dogs, especially enjoying playing with dogs of all sizes. While he has no direct experience with cats, he shows interest but remains calm around them. Tarae has been fine with children as long as they are gentle and well-mannered.

Health: When he was rescued, Tarae had heartworms, but the treatments were completed, and he is now healthy and ready for a new family. He has shown no allergic reactions to any food he tried in Korea. Tarae has been neutered, microchipped, and is up to date on vaccinations. Additionally, he receives monthly prevention for internal and external parasites.

Ideal Home: The ideal home for Tarae is with someone who lives a relaxing lifestyle, and prefers minimal visitors. A quiet home with adults only, where the focus is on spending quality time with Tarae, going for walks, and providing companionship. Patience and compassionate love are essential qualities that his adopter should possess. Tarae is a very lovely boy. Whoever adopts him will be very lucky.
