Get monthly updates about dogs like Susu and follow their journey from suffering to a forever-loving home.
Background: Rescued from a high-kill shelter in Korea, Susu’s story began when she was surrendered by her previous owner, who found her too small to serve as a guard dog. Fortunately, she was rescued just in time and brought to a loving family in Toronto, Canada. This family, having previously adopted another Jindo dog, Poky, in 2018, welcomed Susu into their home on Christmas Eve, 2020. Susu enjoyed a wonderful life with them until a newborn baby developed severe allergies to dogs, leading the family to make the difficult decision to surrender both dogs.
Together Forever: Susu and Poky are very close to each other. Poky, the more reserved of the two, complements Susu’s outgoing and playful nature. Together, they form a well-balanced duo. While we hope to find a home where they can stay together, and offer a special adoption fee of $780 for both, we are also open to applicants interested in adopting them individually.
Personality and Socialization: Susu is sociable, friendly, and thrives around people with medium energy levels. She’s playful and active, yet possesses a mellow, affectionate demeanor, making her the perfect companion for families.
Behaviors: An enthusiast of the outdoors, Susu enjoys walks and is comfortable during car rides and bath times. Indoors, she is calm and composed. Always greeting you with excitement, she adapts to your pace—playful when you are and quiet when you’re busy. Susu’s love for fetch and her welcoming nature will surely bring joy to any family.
Health: Susu is in excellent health, having recently undergone a comprehensive veterinary examination, including a dental checkup, parasite and heartworm testing, and blood work. Susu is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations.
Ideal Home: Susu thrives in a loving environment where she can be active and engage with her family. She is perfect for someone who enjoys outdoor activities and has plenty of time to spend with her. Ideally, Susu would love to stay with her sister Poky, as they provide comfort and companionship to each other. However, individual adoptions are also welcome.
Susu’s resilience and affectionate nature make her ready to be a loving part of her new forever home. Could that be with you?
