Background: Poky was discovered as a puppy, alone and neglected on the streets, her coat matted with dirt and marred by severe skin damage. Fortunately, she was rescued and found refuge in a shelter alongside other dogs until her departure from Korea. In 2018, a family in Toronto adopted her, providing a loving home where she flourished. Sadly, the arrival of a newborn with allergies meant that the family had to make the tough decision to surrender both Poky and her fur sister, Susu, who joined the family in 2020.
Together Forever: Poky and Susu are very close to each other. Poky, the more reserved of the two, complements Susu’s outgoing and playful nature. Together, they form a well-balanced duo. While we hope to find a home where they can stay together, and offer a special adoption fee of $780 for both, we are also open to applicants interested in adopting them individually.
Personality and Socialization: Gentle, sweet, and quiet, Poky possesses a medium to low energy level. Initially shy around new faces, she reveals a loyal and affectionate nature once comfortable. She doesn’t ask for much but will always be there when you need her—a very sweet and loving companion.
Behaviors: Poky loves sunbathing, enjoys soothing back massages, and adores belly rubs. She eagerly explores on her walks and initially may be shy with other dogs but becomes playful as she gets comfortable. She is house-trained, behaves well in cars and during baths, and walks nicely on a leash. Poky and Susu love playing and spending time together at home.
Health: Poky is in excellent health, with recent comprehensive veterinary care including dental scaling, parasite and heartworm testing, and blood work. She is spayed, and microchipped, and her vaccinations are up to date.
Ideal Home: Poky will thrive with mature individuals who have some experience with dogs. She appreciates those who understand her, rewarding them with loyalty and dedication. Ideal for someone with a quiet, relaxing lifestyle looking for a gentle furry companion, Poky is low-maintenance—she simply desires to cuddle and share a long, happy life with you. Poky’s calm demeanor and gentle presence make her an ideal candidate for a loving forever home.
