Background: Soonwon was found on a street in Paju with her newborn baby in March 2021 when she was just two years old. While her baby was immediately adopted, Soonwon was brought to our shelter. She quickly found a foster home and is currently living with her second foster family. However, she has to return to the shelter next month in August due to the foster’s personal reasons. We hope she finds her forever home soon!
Personality and Socialization: Soonwon is quiet and gentle with a low energy level. She is shy and it takes some time to adjust to new spaces, but once she feels comfortable, her sweet and obedient nature shines through. Soonwon is the epitome of good behavior—submissive, trouble-free, and content to have her own space to relax.
She’s not very interested in other dogs and prefers to avoid those that are bossy or hyper. However, she can coexist peacefully with gentle and friendly dogs. Soonwon has had some experience around children and tends to be indifferent, making her a calm presence in a family setting. In her current foster home, she lives with cats and shows no reaction to them.
Behaviors: Soonwon loves going for walks and stays by her foster’s side. She tolerates baths despite disliking them. She’s a bit anxious in the car, but with more positive experiences, this can improve. Indoors, Soonwon is very quiet and non-destructive, showing no signs of separation anxiety. Though shy, she is gentle and has never shown any aggressive behavior.
Health and Diet: When Soonwon was rescued, she had heartworms and mammary tumors. This brave girl underwent surgery and treatments and has made a full recovery. Now healthy and ready for her forever home. Soonwon enjoys regular dry food with no known allergies and is always up for a variety of snacks. She has been spayed, microchipped, and receives monthly preventative treatments for internal and external parasites.
