Get monthly updates about dogs like Silky and follow their journey from suffering to a forever-loving home.
Silky’s journey began in the spring of 2022 when she was discovered on the highway, having been hit by a car. Initially, she was taken to a high-kill shelter, but fortunately, she was rescued just in time to avoid euthanasia. Currently, Silky is under the care of a foster family.
This sweet girl possesses a wonderful, friendly, and affectionate nature. She gets along well with both people and other dogs. Silky thoroughly enjoys playing with her toys and has displayed no signs of separation anxiety so far. However, she does tend to get a little nervous around loud machines such as vacuums or motorcycles. On the bright side, she absolutely adores spending time outdoors and engaging in playtime with her furry friends. Overall, Silky is incredibly easygoing and affable.
Unfortunately, the car accident resulted in a broken left back leg, necessitating surgery. Fortunately, the procedure was successful, and the surgical pins have been removed. Although Silky should have no trouble using her back leg, it seems that the trauma has made her somewhat hesitant to rely on it fully. Rehabilitation and therapeutic massage could be beneficial for her recovery.
Silky’s ideal adopter would be someone experienced with dogs and willing to continue assisting her in her rehabilitation journey with her back leg. She is perfectly content as the sole dog in a household or living alongside other canine companions. Whoever is fortunate enough to adopt Silky will gain a truly delightful and loving companion.
