Last winter, Marie was saved from being euthanized at a high-kill shelter in Chungju, Korea. She later lived with a foster family in Korea before flying to Canada in pursuit of her happily ever after. She is currently with a foster family in Toronto while she waits for her forever family to find her.

All Marie needs and wants in her life are people and playtime. She is a social butterfly who loves everyone she meets, and will never turn down an invitation for pets and cuddles. If you’re looking for Marie, she is where ever her humans are, or never far behind. She is a very sweet and affectionate girl who craves human attention and companionship.

While Marie is great with people, she is not fond of other dogs. Although curious about them, she likes to keep her distance and may bark if they come too close and/or she feels threatened. We believe this possibly stems from a negative experience at the shelter where due to overcrowding, she was forced to live in close proximity to other dogs she was not comfortable with.

Among Marie’s favorite activities are going for walks and spending time outdoors with her humans companions. (That being said, any activity where she can be included with her humans make her happy). She is generally good on leash, but can get distracted, causing her to pull or walk in zig zags. She is indifferent to birds, squirrels, and other critters she sees outdoors. However, she gets nervous around young children.

Marie is potty trained and knows to do her business outdoors, although she also understands how to use pee pads when indoors. While she loves a good nap, she is an energetic girl who likes to keep herself busy playing with her toys or with her humans. Her foster notes she is a quick learner, which is helped by her food motivation.

This sweet baby would thrive in a quiet household with no other pets, where she can enjoy time with her humans (who would be working from home, retired, or otherwise have the time to spend with her) and regular walks. Marie is an adorable fur baby and wonderful companion. An very lucky adopter would be fortunate to have her in their life.
