Lookie

**Note: Lookie is available for adoption in Vancouver. Her flight from Korea to Vancouver is scheduled for March 31.

Background: Lookie was saved from a farmer who tried to sell her to a dog meat trader in Buyeo-gun, Korea last year. After spending some time at a temporary shelter, she recently moved to our partner boarding house.

Living Environment: She currently lives with other dogs at our partner shelter.

Personality:  Lookie is a gentle and sweet dog. She may be a bit shy around strangers initially, but quickly becomes affectionate and snuggly after a few interactions. Once familiar with people, she is mellow, gentle, quiet, and very affectionate.

Behavior: She can be nervous in new environments and may require some time to feel comfortable. She is good on a leash; enjoys outdoor activities; is comfortable in a car and during baths. She is afraid of squeaky toys and generally exhibits a quiet and submissive demeanor.

Socialization: Lookie gets along well with other dogs but isn’t particularly interested in them. She has no issues living with other dogs as she is non-aggressive and tends to be submissive. Lookie prefers spending time with humans, becoming very affectionate and snuggly in their presence.

Health: Following her rescue, Lookie underwent comprehensive vet checkups which revealed she had Anaplasma. After completing Anaplasma treatment, she is now healthy and happy. Lookie has been spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on vaccinations. Additionally, she receives monthly prevention for internal and external parasites.

Ideal Home: The perfect home for Lookie would be with someone who works from home or is retired, as she thrives on spending time with her human companions. She is best suited for someone who appreciates an affectionate and sweet dog. Lookie would flourish in a family with a relaxed lifestyle. Ideally, she would be the only dog in the household, although she may accept another small and gentle canine companion.
