** Note: Lalla is currently in Vancouver, living with two cats in a foster home.
Background: Lalla was rescued from a city pound in Chuncheon, Korea last fall through our “Save 100 Dogs” project. After her rescue, she lived with other dogs at our boarding house until her flight to Canada. She’s now settling into her new life in Vancouver, BC, where she’s being fostered alongside two other dogs.
Personality and Socialization: Lalla is a gentle, submissive, and affectionate girl. She’s friendly with everyone she meets, including men, and isn’t shy. With medium energy, she enjoys the company of small and gentle dogs, but tends to be nervous around larger or more dominant ones. She loves being near people and is always happy to receive attention and affection.
Behaviour: Lalla is very well-mannered and often receives compliments at the vet. She’s calm during car rides and bath time, and she walks well on a leash. While she enjoys outdoor walks, she may become a bit nervous in unfamiliar environments. She is also pee-pad trained and will use indoor pads when needed. She is quiet and calm indoors, with no signs of destructive behavior or separation anxiety.
Health and Diet: Lalla is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations. She is on monthly parasite prevention, and all tests for parasites have come back negative.
When she was rescued, she tested positive for heartworms and also showed signs of tracheal stenosis. She has since completed heartworm treatment and is now heartworm-free. For her trachea, she took medication for two months and is doing really well. These days, she doesn’t show any signs of discomfort or coughing—except for the occasional cough if she runs around too much. Her condition doesn’t need surgery or daily medication right now, just a bit of care and attention.
A calm, low-stress lifestyle suits her best. As long as she’s not overdoing it, she’s perfectly happy. In the future, if needed, supplements or medicine can help keep her comfortable. She’s such a gentle soul—just looking for a peaceful home where she can thrive.
She eats dry kibble twice a day and has no known allergies.
Ideal Home: Lalla is a loving and loyal companion who forms deep bonds with her humans. She would do best with someone who is home most of the time—ideally retired or working from home. She isn’t a fan of being left alone and will happily spend the day by your side, offering comfort and affection. Whoever adopts this sweetheart will be very lucky.
