**Note: Kale is available for adoption in Vancouver. She is at a foster in Vancouver.

Background: Kale was one of the dogs who was rescued from an illegal puppy mill in Goyang, Korea last summer. She lived at another shelter after she was rescued, but she was left under neglect and got skinny. The shelter didn’t look after the dogs under their care.

Living Environment: Currently, she has been living at our partner boarding house with other dogs.
Personality: Kale is mellow, quiet, and friendly, albeit a bit shy initially. Once she warms up to people, she becomes affectionate and enjoys human companionship. She is quiet, obedient, and well-behaved, showing no signs of aggression.

Behavior: Kale is very quiet and obedient. She behaves well in the car and has no issues with grooming and taking a bath. However, she is still a bit nervous about going outside for a walk. Kale is currently peepad-trained.

Socialization: Kale is initially shy and a bit nervous in new environments with unfamiliar people, but she quickly warms up. She enjoys being around people she knows. In interactions with other dogs, she tends to be submissive and quiet, never engaging in fights and maintaining a calm demeanor. She has no experience with cats and children.

Health: She went through a comprehensive vet checkup. Thankfully, she is healthy other than slightly underweight from being not cared well at the previous shelter. But she has gained her appetite and eats well since she joined us. She has shown no allergic reactions to any food that she tried in Korea. Kale has been spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on vaccinations. Additionally, she receives monthly prevention for internal and external parasites.

Ideal Home: The perfect home for Kale would be with an individual who leads a calm and relaxed lifestyle. Ideally, someone who is retired or works from home in a serene neighborhood would be a great fit. Patience is key, as Kale needs someone who can adapt to her pace. While she is a lovely and gentle poodle, she is still adjusting to her new environment and has much to learn. An individual with dog experience who can provide understanding and work with her at her own pace would be ideal for Kale.
