**Note: Currently, Hanee is at a foster home in Pickering ON.
Background: Hanee is one of the 21 dogs rescued from a dog meat farm in Anseong, Korea, this spring. She lived with other dogs at our partner boarding house until she left Korea.
Personality and Socialization: Hanee is a friendly and affectionate girl who adores both people and other dogs. With a medium energy level, she’s easy-going and naturally submissive, making her a wonderful companion for anyone looking for a loving and loyal dog. Hanee’s gentle and friendly nature shines through in her love for snuggles and cuddles—she’s always happy to follow her humans around and be close to them.
When meeting strangers on the street, Hanee is a bit curious and slightly nervous at first, but as soon as she senses that they’re dog lovers, she eagerly wags her tail and bum in excitement. She thrives on interacting with people and soaking up all the love and attention she can get.
Behaviors: Hanee is a fast learner who loves to please her humans. She’s great in the car, usually lying down to sleep or staying calm during the ride. While she gets a bit nervous during baths and nail clippings, she’s patient and allows her humans to care for her. She lets her humans clean her ears, paws, and touch any part of her body, showing complete trust in them.
Hanee is steadily improving on her walks. She usually follows her human’s pace and walks well, though she might pull a bit if something startles her. While she can be cautious in new environments, she’s making consistent progress. She loves her outdoor time, doesn’t bark during walks, and doesn’t react to squirrels or bunnies. Once she’s familiar with the routine, she becomes a great walker. However, she can be a bit nervous when learning a new route for the first few times.
Hanee likes to stay close to her humans and follow them around. Indoors, she’s quiet and will let you know when she needs to go out for her potty breaks. Hanee is housebroken and sleeps well through the night.
Hanee doesn’t have much experience with cats or small animals, but when she has encountered them on the streets, she’s been almost indifferent, showing no signs of wanting to chase them. She has been around kids and is fine as long as they stay gentle and calm, but she gets a bit nervous if they scream or if she’s around large groups of children. Hanee will be best living with a family of adults only as she is still young and active and loves to cuddle.
Health: Hanee is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on her vaccinations. She also takes monthly preventatives for internal and external parasites. She’s a healthy girl, ready to bring peace and love to her forever home.
Hanee currently enjoys dry kibble three times a day and has a great appetite. She loves her food and toys, making mealtime and playtime her favorite parts of the day. So far, she hasn’t shown any allergic reactions to specific foods.
Ideal Home: Hanee is looking for someone who enjoys outdoor activities with their dog. Since she’s still adjusting to her new life in Canada, a home with someone who works from home or is retired and can spend plenty of time with her would be ideal. Hanee would be thrilled to have a buddy to romp around with. A home with another medium-sized, friendly, and playful dog would be perfect for her.
Hanee is smart and would make a fantastic companion for someone who loves training and engaging with their dog. She’s affectionate and snuggly, making her the perfect balance of a loving indoor companion.
