Gangsae was among the 101 dogs rescued from the Sihueng dog meat farm in 2022 where he was kept in a filthy cage and forced to eat human waste scraps for sustenance. Understandably, having only experienced cruelty at the hands of humans, Gangsae was extremely timid and apprehensive upon his rescue. He wound crouched down in the corner shivering with fear, avoiding all eye contact, and wanting to disappear. However, slowly but surely, he began to open up thanks to the care and compassion shown by his caretakers.

Gangsaw grew to love the boarding house manager, lighting up with happiness and excitement whenever he saw her. She was among the few he trusted, and undoubtedly who he trusted the most if not completely, allowing her to pet and handle him for his care while he provided gentle kisses.

Unfortunately, the boarding house manager left her position in the late Spring of 2024 to pursue other rescue opportunities. Given his progress with her, we saw the potential in him and decided to send him to training school so he could grow his trust and learn basic socialization skills. While there, Gangsae initially made great strides. However, he suffered setbacks when fear instincts took over and he ended up biting several trainers.

Without a limited budget, we decided to bring Gangsae back to the boarding house and allow another dog in need to benefit from training. It has been sad seeing him back in his kennel, confused and not knowing what brought about all the changes in his life.

His brother Dolsae (now Romeo) and sister Mooi (now Mayou) had previously attended training school as well, where they thrived from personalities much like Gangsae to mastering leash training, handling, and socialization. We believed he would take the same path, but it is evident Gangsae will need a little more support. Nonetheless, we believe he will get here with time.

Gangsae’s Sponsorship Needs

Continued Training Needs
We believe in Gangsae’s potential to thrive but understand his journey will take a little more time and effort. Due to financial constraints, only a few dogs are afforded the gift of training school.

The gift of your sponsorship will allow Gangsae to continue his path towards becoming his best self with professional guidance in hopes he will one day move on to find his forever home as a model citizen of society.
