Eddie is one of seven puppies who was born last summer to Sihwa, a rescue dog from the Siheug dog meat farm that was closed down in May 2022. Unfortunately, Sihwa was too young to care for her puppies and even attacked some of them. For their safety, the shelter staff had to separate the puppies from their mother, and they were raised by the dedicated shelter staff. At present, Eddie is residing with a foster family in Vancouver, where he enjoys the company of another dog.
Eddie is a friendly and easy-going puppy who is a social butterfly. When he first arrived in Canada, he walked out of his crate immediately and was very eager to greet his new humans. He follows his foster humans around wherever they go and happily accepts (or asks for) pets, scratches, and belly rubs. Being the affectionate boy he is, he loves to cuddle and shower his human with kisses.
Eddie walks well on a leash and has good manners. Although he can be a bit tentative in new and unfamiliar places, his curiosity helps him come out of his shell and he genuinely goes outside to explore and sniff around.
Second to his love for humans is his love of food. Eddie’s food motivation helps him make positive associations which makes his training easier. He currently uses a slow feeder bowl to prevent him from eating too quickly.
To ensure Eddie’s happiness, his ideal adopter would have ample time to spend with him, as he loves his humans more than anything and has not been left alone too much. He would be great as a second dog or as an only dog. He would be happiest in a neighborhood outside of the downtown core.
Eddie is available for adoption. The fee to adopt Eddie is $780.
