Dolsae was one of the fortunate 101 dogs rescued from the harrowing conditions of Siheung dog meat farm in 2022. Trapped within a grimy, filthy wire enclosure, his days were marked by surviving on inedible scraps of human food waste. Dogs on such farms typically avoid consuming highly toxic food waste until they’ve endured several days without sustenance, reaching a point where they can no longer endure hunger.

Right after being rescued, Dolsae was extremely timid, avoiding direct eye contact with humans. However, gradually, he began emerging from his shell, displaying noticeable progress. In May this year, we took the step to enroll Dolsae in a specialized dog training program, firmly believing that professional guidance would allow him to flourish—and our optimism has been well-founded.

Walking gracefully on a leash, Dolsae’s demeanor has undergone a remarkable transformation. Once tentative and uncertain, he now radiates joy in the presence of visitors, trainers, and his companions at the training school.

Dolsae possesses a heartwarming combination of sweetness, mellowness, and affection. His intelligence and obedience further enhance his endearing personality. While he continues to acclimate to interactions with fellow canines, he approaches this journey with determination, actively participating in group training sessions. Though still early in the process, he’s been responding well to guidance.

For Dolsae, the ideal forever home is one with experience in caring for rescue dogs, featuring a house with a fenced backyard in a tranquil countryside neighborhood. He thrives as the sole four-legged resident, yearning for the serenity of rural living and the joys of outdoor adventures. A perfect match would be someone who either works from home or is retired, possessing ample time to forge a lasting bond with Dolsae.

Dolsae is available for adoption. The fee to adopt Dolsae is $780.
