Doci is a survivor among eighty-three fortunate dogs rescued from the Dangjin dog meat farm in 2018. This harrowing place imprinted scars of suffering that are not easily forgotten. At the farm, Doci was deeply traumatized, trembling uncontrollably, and often found cowering in a corner, unable to stand. She also suffered from cherry eye in her right eye, which has since been treated with successful surgery.

However, life began to change for Doci after her rescue. She embarked on a path of recovery and renewal. At a training school alongside other rescued dogs, she confronted her fears and began revealing the gentle and inquisitive spirit hidden beneath her painful past. Learning to trust the leash was a challenge, but with time, she came to see it as a symbol of her newfound freedom and security.

Today, Doci exudes a gentle nature. She’s calm and friendly around familiar faces, though still a bit reserved with strangers. She’s well-behaved on a leash, enjoying outdoor adventures and equally content being a serene companion indoors. Unlike some dogs that might get overly eager during meals or outings, Doci epitomizes patience, always waiting her turn.

Interactions with other dogs can sometimes make her uncertain and anxious. She prefers spending time in her kennel, but when she recognizes a friendly face, she gleefully emerges, her tail wagging in joy.

This lovely lady would have made an excellent travel companion, but her weight surpasses the airline limit. Consequently, she will spend her remaining years in Korea. As visible in her photos, Doci is advancing in age, showing signs of slowing down and some joint discomfort. Please consider sponsoring Doci. For her, our shelter represents her forever home. We aspire to give her the finest life possible during her time with us.
