** Note: Dia is available for adoption in Vancouver. Her flight from Korea to Vancouver is scheduled for June 30.

Background: Dia was rescued from a puppy mill in Namyangju, Korea, where she spent her days in a cramped, filthy cage without any light. Enduring a life of darkness and forced breeding for profit, Dia’s story is one of incredible resilience and hope. She initially lived with other dogs at our partner boarding house, but she was not very comfortable around them. To ensure her well-being, we placed her in a foster home where she could be the only dog.

Personality and Socialization: Dia is a very gentle and well-mannered dog. She is sociable and not shy, enjoying the company of people. She’s comfortable with people and is very friendly and affectionate.

Behaviors: Dia is still in the process of learning to use pee-pads and is making progress. While she is getting accustomed to walking on a leash and doesn’t have much experience yet, she enjoys playing outside and relaxing. Dia doesn’t mind baths or grooming, and is ok with car rides. With medium energy, she is more gentle and easy-going compared to others.

Health: During a checkup, the vet discovered something unusual in her abdomen, which turned out to be a forgotten bandage gauge, likely from a previous C-section performed at a puppy mill. The surgery was successful and she is fully recovered.

Dia has completed her checkups, including dental work: she has a few missing teeth and scaling was done. Vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed, she receives monthly parasite preventatives. She is healthy for her forever home.

Ideal Home: Dia would thrive in a home with someone who works from home or is retired, providing ample time and attention to their new furry family member. It’s important to be patient as Dia gets accustomed to her new surroundings, but the love and loyalty she offers in return are priceless. If you’re seeking a gentle, easy-going, and sociable companion to brighten your days, Dia is the perfect match for you!
