Daun was born to a mother who was kept as an outdoor guard dog and neglected. Her mom was kept on a short chain and some of her siblings has collars that would cut into their skin and cause neck lacterations. Although Daun and her siblings were brought to safety, the owner refused to surrender her mom, although they did allo wus to spay her to prevent future litters. After being rescued, she lived at our partner boarding house with other dogs where she enjoyed playing with other dogs until she left Korea to Canada to find her forever home.

Daun is currently with a foster family in Newmarket, ON with another Jindo mix who is also a FKD alumnus. She has settled in well with her foster and has completely come out of the shell and is very affectionate, playful, and attention seeking. She absolutely loves human attention.

With strangers coming to visit the home, she is a bit shy at first but warms up with treats and pets. She prefers female humans to male – she is by no means avoidant of men, she will just gravitate towards you and warm up quicker if you are female.

Daun is fully potty trained and goes on 3 walks a day. She walks well on leash, and only pulls when she is startled/trigger and pulls to get away from the situation. Things that startle her include large/loud cars or trucks, and strangers who walk up too close to her. She currently has a secure yard in her foster home which is thoroughly enjoys and spends a lot of time playing.

While playful and affectionate, Daun also has a curious and mischievous side. She has been curious what is on the other side of the baby gate in the home, and knows where to find gaps and will (sometimes successfully) push and squeeze herself through. She is not destructive in the home so as long as she is given proper outlets and mental stimulation such as a bully or dental stick. Otherwise, she her  mischievous takes over and she will will seek out cushion tags to nibble on.

This sweet girl’s ideal home is one in the suburbs or one in a more quiet area where there are less triggers to startle her on her walks. A household where people are home for the majority of the day to spend with her as she is still young. She would love having another friendly dog in the home, and/or another friendly dog sibling. Although this is highly preferred, it is not a requirement for adoption.
