Cherry is a true survivor, her heart brimming with love. She’s one of the lucky ones, rescued last spring from a grim puppy mill in Jinan, Korea. Her early life was tough, trapped in a dark, cramped cage in a makeshift shelter, with no fresh air or sunlight. Cherry’s days were spent in forced breeding, a mere tool for profit. But fate smiled on her—the puppy mill was closed, and she, along with others, found freedom.
Cherry shared her days with fellow dogs at our partner boarding house until she left Korea. She’s a favorite there, known for her kindness, friendliness, and good manners. She’s always sweet, getting along with most dogs, though she prefers those who aren’t too rowdy or bossy. Sometimes, younger, more dominant dogs bully her, but she remains gentle. Cherry’s nature is patient and submissive, with a calm energy that makes her easy to care for.
Her health has been a priority for us. We’ve taken care of dental issues, removing half of her teeth and cleaning the rest. Despite this, she has no trouble enjoying her kibble and treats. Her heart is strong, and the only concern was a diagnosis of patella luxation stage 2. After consultations, two different vets advised that no surgery was needed, as her condition was progressing slowly. With regular monitoring, exercises, and joint supplements, Cherry remains happy and active, showing no discomfort in her movements.
Cherry’s past, marked by forced breeding and losing her puppies, was harsh. But now, she’s ready for a new chapter. She’s the perfect mix of a velcro dog and a laid-back companion. Anyone who offers Cherry a loving home will be incredibly lucky to have such a sweet soul enrich their life.
