Get monthly updates about dogs like Ben and follow their journey from suffering to a forever-loving home.

Ben was rescued along with nine stray dogs in Gangneung, Korea and sent to stay at a local shelter for 2 years. The shelter unfortunately did not provide good care and he was often left neglected.  As a result, one of the shelter volunteers asked for help and he was eventually moved to our partner boarding house.

He recently had his teeth cleaned by the vet, and had 6 teeth extracted. This has not affected his appetite or eating – he has no issue eating his kibble.

Ben is a very sweet and gentle boy with a calm and easy going personality. His foster notes he is an absolute cuddle bug who loves to take a nap on your lap. He still gets startled by sudden sounds or movements, but recovers quickly.

Outdoors, Ben walks well on leash and does not pull unless he is signaling he wants to go home. He has no problem meeting other dogs and is very polite. Ben has settled in well to his schedule at his foster and does his potty business outside. However, if his schedule runs behind (even for a half hour), he is happy to use pee pads as well and does not relieve himself anywhere inappropriate. He will urinate on the pee pads but does not poop until he gets outside.

Indoors he is calm, non-destructive, and not vocal. Ben’s foster sister is a FKD alum with whom he does very well with. He does not show any possessiveness towards his people or belongings.  He has also had the chance to meet a cat who he does not mind.

His foster has praised him on how smart he is, and how quickly he has learned his new schedule and some new commands. He knows how to “sit”, “shake”, “go”, “follow” and “no”.

Ben would do very well with someone living a quiet and relaxed lifestyle and looking for a companion to share their time with. Ben is very sweet, calm, and a great cuddle companion. He is happiest when he gets to spend quality time with his humans snuggling, watching TV, and hanging out. Whoever who adopts this lovebug will be very lucky.
