In the sweltering heat of June 2023, Banya’s journey began. Our colleague first spotted him on the streets, assuming he was just a lost pet. But as she approached, she noticed Banya and another Dachshund companion sitting there, abandoned and alone. The sight tugged at her heartstrings, and she couldn’t forget about them. She revisited the spot where they were found.
It turned out that Banya and his friend had been living in a construction site, abandoned and neglected, without the basic necessities of food, water, or shelter. Our colleague approached the owner multiple times, persuading him to surrender them to her cause. Eventually, he agreed, and the two Dachshunds were rescued from their dire situation.
Initially, they found temporary refuge in a private boarding house. However, just last week, we moved Banya to our partner boarding house because it became evident that he wasn’t thriving in his previous environment. He spent most of his time alone and had difficulty getting along with other dogs.
Today, Banya resides in our partner boarding house with other dogs, but he truly thrives when he’s in the company of humans and no other dogs around. He’s a friendly, sweet, and gentle soul, with a rare talent for staying quiet; you’ll rarely hear a bark from him. However, it’s important to note that he is an escape artist and can climb fences. Therefore, he should never be left alone in the backyard, as he may climb and escape.
The perfect home for this precious pup is one without other pets and no plans to introduce more dogs in the future.
