Get monthly updates about dogs like Abby and follow their journey from suffering to a forever-loving home.

Abby and her puppies were discovered at an abandoned construction site back in 2017. While her puppies were all quickly adopted, Abby was left traumatized and deeply afraid of people. Consequently, she spent three years living in a shelter until she finally found a foster home in early 2021.

Initially, Abby was very hesitant around new people and it took several months for her to feel comfortable with her foster family. However, with time and patience, she has made significant progress and is now able to enjoy activities like bathing, walking on a leash, and riding in a car. Nonetheless, her future adopter should be prepared to be patient and give her the time she needs to adjust.

Despite her reservations around people, Abby is friendly and sociable toward other dogs. When out on walks, she gets excited to meet new canine friends and gets along well with them.

Abby has demonstrated no signs of separation anxiety and has never been destructive. She is a quiet and patient dog that does not make a fuss.

Abby’s ideal adopter would be someone with experience in rescuing dogs and who can either work from home or is retired. A peaceful home environment, where her adopter can provide the love and care needed for Abby’s continued development, would be ideal. Additionally, having another friendly furry companion in the home would be beneficial as it would help Abby come out of her shell.

Abby is available for adoption. The fee to adopt Abby is $580.
