Update: Vera has found a forever home in Vancouver. Yay!

* NOTE: Vera is currently with a foster in North Vancouver.
Vera was rescued from a high kill shelter in Korea last year alongside Sera, who has since found her forever home with a wonderful family in Toronto. At the time, Vera was found to have heartworms, so she had to wait a little longer. She is now heartworm free and ready to find her dream home with a very lucky family.

After her rescue, she lived at our partner boarding house where she lived with over 80 other dogs who she enjoyed playing with. After she arrived in Canada, she found the adjustment to be somewhat overwhelming – she was overstimulated and found it difficult to settle, but is now doing well.

Vera absolutely loves other dogs, and being around them. She currently stays with a foster who also boards dogs, and loves everyone whether chihuahua or great dane sized (literally!). She is very maternal and loves to lick their faces clean and play “chase”.

Vera is also great with humans, and never met anyone she didn’t love. She is what we call an “enthusiastic greeter” who wants you to know how happy she is to see you by greeting you with 2 paws, and also how much she wants you to pet her by tugging on your sleeves and pants. She is learning how to be more polite when greeting, and that she has to be calm before receiving pets. When she is not playing with other dogs, she is following her humans around.

This goofy girl is very eager to please and pays a lot of attention to what her foster wants her to do. She is outgoing, social, affectionate, friendly, and energetic.

Her ideal home is with someone who has experience with large breeds and able to manage them as she can be excitable. She would require a house with a yard in a relaxed, laid back area outside the city and active humans who would be able to provide her with the exercise she needs. Vera loves to go on hikes and nature walks in the forest. She would also do best with humans who have the time to spend with her in the home, as she loves being with her people. Having another friendly and playful dog in the home is ideal.
