Background: Sunny’s story is one of strength and kindness. In 2018, she was discovered on the streets after a car accident that left her with severe injuries, including a fractured pelvis and a badly broken right hind leg. Initially facing euthanasia at a city pound, she was fortunately rescued by a local shelter team who took her to a hospital for vital surgery. Following months of attentive care, Sunny recovered fully and was eventually adopted into a caring forever home against all odds. However, last fall, the shelter received an unexpected call regarding Sunny’s ownership. Her adopter decided to surrender her to another local shelter, where they discovered Sunny was microchipped, leading to a request for a change in ownership. This sequence of events ultimately led to Sunny being returned to her original shelter.

Living Environment: Sunny currently resides with other dogs at a private boarding house, where she spends plenty of time engaging in outdoor play with her furry companions.

Personality: She is docile and friendly, embodying an easy-going and mellow temperament with moderate energy levels. Her personality radiates happiness and sweetness. She is a very lovely girl.

Behaviors: Sunny is well-behaved on a leash, comfortable with car rides and baths, and is house-trained. She is affectionate towards people she trusts, enjoying snuggling with them. However, she can become a bit scared if someone picks her up suddenly from behind.

Socialization: Sunny has a friendly and sociable nature, getting along well with both dogs and people, including men. While she may be a bit shy around certain individuals, she generally exhibits a welcoming demeanor. She has limited exposure to cats and children.

Health: After being returned, Sunny underwent a comprehensive veterinary checkup. The X-ray examination revealed that the pelvis fracture from the car accident 5 years ago was imperfectly glued. However, given that more than five years have passed since the surgery, it seems that the area has stabilized in its current state. No additional pelvic surgery is necessary. Sunny’s overall health remains good, with no associated discomfort or issues stemming from this past injury. She has been spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on vaccinations. Additionally, she receives monthly prevention for internal and external parasites.
