Soonie was found as a stray when she was roaming around the streets with her puppies. They were picked up by animal control and sent to a high kill shelter in Seongnam, Korea. Luckily, her babies were all young and cute, and got adopted quickly. However, noone wanted Soonie and she soon found her name on the euthansia list. She currently lives with a foster family in Korea.

Soonie is a very sweet and gentle, yet shy girl. She has warmed up to her foster mom well, and with time, her foster dad as well. She also likes to be around other dogs, cats, and birds (although she has not been formally tested with cats or birds). She has a calm, gentle, and friendly temperament with everyone. She is house trained and prefers to do her business outdoors rather than using pee pads.

Generally, Soonie enjoys being outside and is good on leash. However, she is also very sensitive and easily startled by loud noises, unfamiliar objects, etc. Indoors, she is particularly afraid and triggered by anything that resembles a stick – umbrellas, vacuums, canes, etc. However, despite being skittish, she never reacts in an aggressive manner.

Her ideal home is with a small family who is experienced with dogs and lives a quiet, relaxed lifestyle. Her adopters should have experience and understanding of dog body language, root causes, behaviors, and how to approach/manage shy dogs in general. She would require a house in a quiet neighborhood setting, a secure yard, and a friendly canine sibling she can mirror. Soonie is most confident around other dogs.
