*NOTE: Lalee is with a foster family in Vancouver now.

Lalee was rescued in 2017 alongside our FKD alumna Great from a highkill shelter in Incheon city. Their rescuer brought them to our partner boarding house saying she was going to adopt them, and asked the shelter manager if she could keep them for a few days while she sorted out a few arrangements. However, she never returned for the dogs and they ended up being abandoned yet again. Great found her forever home with a wonderful family in Toronto last year. Now, it’s Lalee’s turn.

In the beginning, being in the boarding house with over 80 other dogs was a bit overstimulating for Lalee, so she was sent to training school, where she lived from 2018 to 2020. She later returned to the boarding house before flying to Canada to find her forever home. Currently, she lives in an apartment with a foster. She is house-trained and has no separation anxiety. Indoors, she is very chill and easy going.

Lalee has always been great with humans, always looking for affection and attention. Her current foster notes that she is so friendly towards people she’d willingly walk away with anyone. She loves the outdoors and makes a great hiking buddy. Lalee doesn’t mind getting wet or cold and although she hasn’t gone swimming yet, we have no doubt she’d willingly jump in if given the chance. She currently gets 2.5 hours of exercise a day which suits her. Any less and she’ll typically pout around to let you know she’s unhappy (not in a destructive way). She also gets a good brushing daily, which she tolerates well.

Lalee is very smart, and responds to positive reinforcement training very well. She will sometimes have more trouble focusing in high stimulus scenarios, but this is common and understandable for all dogs. When out and about she is a wanderlust and should not be trusted off leash.

With other dogs, she does best with dogs who are more mellow and smaller in size. With larger breeds, higher energy dogs, and more dominant personalities, she is not a fan. Given her love for people, we believe she would do best as the only pet in the home. Lalee does not have experience with cats.

This beautiful girl’s ideal home is with a family who is experienced, or at least knowledge and understanding of the Malamute or northern breeds and the ability to handle a large dog. She would require an active home who will be able to meet her exercise needs. A condo would be fine, as long as she is provided enough physical activity (she lived in a condo with her foster in Korea, and currently lives in a condo). Lalee should be the only pet in the household: she would prefer to be the princess of her kingdom. She is a wonderful companion and is very deserving of finally having a home to call her own.
