Get monthly updates about dogs like Gunner and follow their journey from suffering to a forever-loving home.

Gunner was rescued from a dog meat farm last year. After his rescue, he lived in a private shelter in Hwasung, Korea until he flew to Canada to find his forever home. He is currently living with a foster family in Hamilton, where he also lives with 2 other FKD alumni.

Gunner has typical lab qualities. He’s a social butterfly who is friendly with everyone and greets them with a wagging tail, whether 2 or 4 legged. He will ask for pets and rubs and give you kisses in return.

Gunner loves toys! From squeaky plush toys to rope balls to black kongs. He loves to fetch his toys when tossed and is learning to “drop it” and “leave it”.

Both of Gunner’s canine foster sisters play with him together and separately, and he has been very polite and respectful of their cues. He is well balanced and has great communication with other dogs. He plays well with them and  will follow their lead as well.

Being a lab, Gunner likes to explore things with his mouth. However, he is not destructive in the home and has been left alone for hours with his foster sisters with no issue. He is eager to please and as a result learns quickly, and has quickly learned “no” when doing something he is not supposed to.

This happy, goofy boy will be great for someone who is looking for a snuggly friendly fur baby. He would enjoy a home in a quiet neighborhood with people who enjoy outdoor time. He would also love a friendly and playful canine sibling, although this is not a requirement for adoption.
