Update: Eunjoo has found a forever home in Vancouver. Yay!

*Note: Eunjoo is currently with a foster in West Vancouver.

Eunjoo was rescued with her mom and siblings from a man who was raising them for meat. She was 1 of 6 puppies. After being taken to safety, she and her siblings (and mom) were moved to our partner boarding house. Eunjoo flew to Vancouver to find her forever home in April and is currently staying with a foster.

Being young and inexperienced, taking a flight across the world and experiencing everything new and unfamiliar is not easy for any dog, but Eunjoo has done very well. As she has grown up around other dogs, we found she is more comfortable and confident in the company of other canines. She is playful, friendly, and respectful of other dogs.

Eunjoo is also very sweet and affectionate with humans. Although she maybe tentative in the beginning, she loves to snuggle and seek out affection from humans.

While she has done very well with all the changes, there are still some things Eunjoo is working on. She still learning the concept of her leash and harness, and learning to accept and get comfortable with them. In the meantime, she uses pee-pads indoors. She also gets a bit nervous when her humans are not in sight. We believe this will be eased once she is able to build her overall confidence in herself. However, her foster notes she is very smart picks up new concepts and routines quickly. It doesn’t take long for her to put 2 and 2 together, especially when rewards and praise are used.

Eunjoo’s ideal home is with people with the patience to let her settle in at her own pace and the advocacy in helping her learn new things and experiences. She’d do best in a relaxed environment and quieter neighborhood, and would love a secure yard to explore. Having another dog around would be ideal for her, or at least the opportunity to socialize frequently with other canines. As she does show some signs of separation anxiety, a household where someone who can be home with her in the beginning until she is comfortable being alone is required.
