Update: Davey has found a forever home in Toronto. Yay!
- Note: Davey is with his foster in Oakville, ON. His adoption fee is $460
Davey was one of the six Dosa dogs rescued from devastating floods in Dangjin, Korea last year. Ironically, the floods saved his and his family’s life as they would have been slaughtered for meat that summer. 2 of his “rescue mates” have now found their forever homes in Toronto, and now it’s Davey’s turn!
Prior to arriving in Canada, Davey lived at our partner boarding house with over 80 other dogs with whom he got along well. While he can be shy initially, he tries hard and loves to be around people. He is very sweet and affectionate, and has a friendly, mellow, gentle, and charming personality. He is also very understanding of boundaries with both dogs and people.
Davey is independent enough to enjoy his quiet time. He sleeps well on his own bed at night and does well on his own for a few hours. He makes great work from home buddy!
Davey is a quiet fellow who enjoys outside time but needs time to adjust to new outdoor situations. One of his favorite games is playing “find it” with food/treats in the yard. He is very food motivated and loves a good benebone to chew on, or a puzzle toy to engage him. But what motivates Davey most is praise from his human. You can see his happiness when he knows he’s made his human proud, and his confidence blossoms from there.
Davey needs a specific diet, Royal Canin Hypoallergenic Hydrolyzed Protein. He is a picture of health, with a healthy weight and coat.
Davey’s ideal adopter is someone living in a quiet neighborhood with a secure yard. Another gentle and friendly dog in the house would be great. High energy dogs are a little intimidating to Davey. While he is good on leash, he is still learning about all the new stimuli the world has to offer and sometimes gets startled. He prefers being outside in a safe, secure area. Someone working from home or retired and experienced with dogs is preferred.
