Update: Cholong has found a forever home in Vancouver. Yay!

Cholong was rescued from a dog meat restaurant in Paju, Korea in summer 2013. He was locked in a cage with no food for days and waiting to be slaughtered for a dog meat soup.

Cholong is still shy around strangers and easily gets scared, but he is also gentle and submissive to people whom he knows. When it comes to grooming, bathing, and patting, he will let you do it. He gets scared but is not aggressive.

Currently, he lives with foster in Korea; he was scared of being left in a shelter and didn’t do well there. But since he was moved to the foster home, he has made some progress. He let his foster parent pat, hold, groom and bathe him. He also likes to play with other dogs and it seems that he is most comfortable and happy when there are other dogs around for him to play with.

The ideal adopter is someone who can communicate with a rescue dog like Cholong. Someone very patient and compassionate and living in a house with a fenced in backyard in a quiet neighborhood and has a couple of gentle and friendly dogs would be perfect.

This poor baby lived in a shelter for five years; very lonely and scared. We have to find his forever home soon. If not, he has to go back to the shelter and that would be so sad.
