Update: Capu has found a forever home in Toronto. Yay!

Capu was found roaming the streets of Paju, Korea in 2018. At the time of her rescue, she had a fracture around her chin. While we did not know the source of her injury, the vet advised it was healing well naturally and no intervention was needed.

Being a poodle, she had a lot of adoption interest in Korea based on her photos. But when prospective adopters inquired about her weight, they all said she was too big and withdrew their interest. However, we know Capu is just the perfect size for a loving home in Canada! She currently lives in a boarding house in Korea.

Capu gets along well with other dogs, but her favorite thing is to be with people. Capu loves people – so much so she has separation anxiety. This means she feels anxious and insecure when her humans are not around and responds by barking and howling to soothe herself. She will require an adopter who has the knowledge and understanding of separation anxiety to help her feel secure being alone. Training separation anxiety is a long, multi step process of which there are no “quick fixes”.

She also has medical conditions which need ongoing care and monitoring. The first is hypothyroidism of which she requires ongoing medication of  levothyroxine. The medication is affordable and costs about $35CAD per month. Capu also has hyperlipidemia, meaning she has elevated levels of lipids (fat) in her bloodstream. She does not require medication for this, but needs to be fed a lean, low fat diet while maintaining quality physical exercise. She would also require more frequent vet check ups to monitor her conditions, about every 6 months.

Her ideal home is with a family living in a detached home. (Due to her separation anxiety, she can be vocal when left alone, even in a different room). Her adopters should be experienced and/or knowledgeable on separation anxiety and slow introductions on helping her find her confidence. She will also require a home where someone can be home with her for a majority of the day (work from home, retired, or working opposite schedules) until she can be comfortable being alone. Knowledge and experience with the poodle breed would be valuable and preferred.

Her adoption fee is $460 CAD / $360 USD (Tax included).
