Betty and Joey were found together in a small village last spring. They were chained and left alone in an empty abandoned farmhouse. The owner showed up once a week and left human food waste which was uneatable. So every couple of days our volunteer dropped by and left food for them. She eventually became very close to Betty and Joey. But one day she noticed that they were gone. The owner sold them to a dog meat seller. It was a miracle that she caught them before they were sent to a butcher shop.
After they were rescued, we brought them to our partner boarding house. Betty and Joey have been living there with other dogs since then.
Betty is a little bit shy around strangers. When we brought her to our boarding house, it took a week for her to come out of her shell. But once she gets to know you, she becomes very sweet and friendly. Betty is a quiet, gentle and obedient girl. She has never got into a fight with other dogs. She gets along well with other dogs and is also good with people. Like Joey, she is pretty easy-going and chill!
Betty’s ideal adopter is someone who lives a relaxed lifestyle in a quiet neighborhood and has a lot of spare time to spend with her. Someone retired or working from home will be great.
