Get monthly updates about dogs like Saweol and follow their journey from suffering to a forever-loving home.
Background: This sweet girl’s journey began earlier this year when she was rescued from a difficult situation at a city pound in Milyang, just before she was scheduled for euthanasia. Since being saved, Saweol has been living alongside other dogs in our dedicated boarding facility.
Personality and Socialization: Saweol has all the wonderful traits you hope for in a Lab mix: she’s friendly, gentle, and loves company (both people and dogs!). She has medium energy and a truly happy spirit. She really brightens up when she’s around others! She greets everyone with a happy tail wag and a big, expressive smile. Her sweet and friendly personality means she’d fit in great with most families. We haven’t tested her with cats or young children yet, but her gentle nature suggests she’d likely adjust well with slow, careful introductions.
Behaviour: She has limited experience on leash walks, but follows her humans well. She is comfortable with car rides, handles visits to the vet with ease, and doesn’t make a fuss during bath time. She prefers outdoor potty, but uses indoor pee pads if needed. Indoors, she’s a quiet and well-behaved companion. She is quite happy and content when she has toys to play with. She has shown no aggression in any situations we’ve observed.
Health and Diet: When she was rescued, she had Anaplasmosis from tick bites, but she successfully completed treatment and is healthy and happy. Another thing to mention is that Saweol was born with a slight bend in one of the toes on her right front paw. X-rays show no concerns, and no treatment is needed. She has been spayed, is microchipped, and is completely up-to-date on all necessary vaccinations. We ensure she receives her monthly preventative treatment for parasites. She thrives on dry kibble, which she is fed twice a day, and has no known food sensitivities or allergies.
Ideal Home: Saweol will truly thrive with a family who genuinely enjoys dogs. Her ideal person is someone who is home a lot, perhaps working remotely or retired, and has plenty of free time to spend with her daily. She’s happy to share her home with a friendly dog sibling, but is also completely content being your one and only pet, as long as she gets lots of love and is part of the family’s everyday fun. Bringing Saweol home means gaining a loyal, loving best friend forever!
Saweol means “April” in Korean.
