** Note: Samdol will arrive in Toronto on July 16, and we’re currently looking for his forever home in the Greater Toronto Area.
Background
Samdol was found wandering the streets in early March, hungry and skinny but still wagging his tail at people. He had no ID, but was friendly. We waited, hoping someone would come for him, but no one did. Since then, he’s been living at our boarding house with other rescue dogs, patiently waiting for a home of his own.
Personality & Socialization
Samdol is smart and eager to please. He listens well, follows commands, and loves being close to his people. He’s affectionate, loyal, and forms strong bonds with humans.
When it comes to other dogs, Samdol can be selective. He’s usually fine with large dogs, but with dogs his own size, he can become jealous or try to assert himself. Because of this, we believe he’d do best as the only dog in the home. He’s happiest when he can be with his people—going for walks, hanging out together, and soaking up love and attention. He hasn’t been tested with cats, but we don’t think he’d do well in a home with them.
Behaviours
Samdol is well-behaved during car rides, vet visits, and even bath time. He enjoys going for walks and spending time outside. One thing to note: he doesn’t like being crated or left alone in a room—he’ll bark if he feels isolated. He does best when he’s part of the daily routine and included in his family’s life.
Health & Diet
When he was first rescued, Samdol tested positive for heartworms. He has since completed treatment and is now healthy and ready for adoption. He’s neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and takes monthly parasite preventatives.
He eats dry food twice a day and hasn’t shown any signs of allergies.
Ideal Home
Samdol would thrive in a calm, loving home where he can be the center of someone’s world. He’s best suited for someone who works from home or is retired, ideally in a quiet neighborhood. He’s not looking for a busy household or dog park lifestyle—just a peaceful life filled with love, companionship, and daily walks with his favorite human. A house would be more comfortable for him than a condo environment.
If you’re looking for a loyal, intelligent, and affectionate companion who will give you his whole heart, Samdol might be the one.
Samdol 2 is available for adoption. The fee to adopt Samdol 2 is $780.
Note: US adopters are responsible for customs clearance fee, which is approximately $140 USD.
