Get monthly updates about dogs like Minghi and follow their journey from suffering to a forever-loving home.

Background: In December 2022, Minghi was found wandering the streets of a small village in Paju, Korea, without an ID tag or microchip. He followed the shelter staff and has been living at the shelter ever since, enjoying the company of other dogs.

Personality and Socialization: Minghi is a sweet and energetic boy who bonds closely with people he knows. However, he can be cautious and wary around strangers, often barking at new visitors until he feels more secure. Due to his sensitivity, he would not do well in a home with frequent guests or in a busy apartment setting. With other dogs, Minghi dislikes dominant male dogs. He is generally friendly and gets along well, as long as they are calm and well-mannered. He has no experience with cats or children. He will do best with the adult-only quiet home with no other pets.

Behavior: Minghi is learning to enjoy leash walks and is gradually building his confidence with every step. His future adopters will need to continue helping him feel comfortable in new environments, as he can still get nervous. Once he trusts his humans, Minghi bears things like car rides and baths, even if he’s not particularly fond of the activities. He also tends to bark when he feels anxious or encounters strangers, so ongoing training and reassurance will be important.

Health and Diet: Minghi is neutered, microchipped, and fully up-to-date on all vaccinations. He takes monthly preventatives for internal and external parasites and is in great health. Minghi enjoys dry kibble twice a day and currently has no known allergies.

Ideal Home: Minghi is seeking a patient individual who is confident in dog training and has extensive rescue experience. He needs someone who truly understands his behavior, particularly his insecurity. A household with just one or two people would be ideal for him, rather than a home with multiple family members. An experienced dog owner who can provide him with love, guidance, and patience is essential. A quiet home in a peaceful neighborhood, with a fenced yard, would create the perfect environment for Minghi to feel safe and comfortable as he gradually adjusts to his new life.

Minghi is available for adoption. The fee to adopt Minghi is $780.

Note: US adopters are responsible for customs clearance fee, which is approximately $140 USD.
