*NOTE: Ilda will arrive in Toronto in Feb. 9th, 2022.
Ilda was rescued with her mother and six siblings from the streets in Paju, Korea when she was about one month old. She lived in a shelter for a year and then sent to a foster home in 2018 late fall.
Ilda was adopted by a friend of her foster parent. Everyone thought that it was a good adoption until this spring. The adopter started refusing calls and emails from the shelter. Eventaully, the shelter discovered that the adopter put Ilda in the garage; the poor girl had been living there even in cold winter. The wife got pregnant and didn’t want to deal with Ilda’s shedding.
The shelter asked the adopter to surrender Ilda back to the shelter since the adopter breached his adoption agreement. It took awhile, but eventually, the couple surrendered her.
It has been over a year since Ilda was returned to the shelter. She was a little bit cautious and shy around strangers, but she is doing much better now. Ilda has become friendly and affectionate to people that she knows well. All she needs is some time and patience.
Ilda is fine with other dogs; quiet and gentle. But she doesn’t seem to be particularily interested in other dogs. In fact, she likes to be around people more.
We are specifically looking for someone with dog experience and has patience and understanding. Ilda is a very loving girl.
