Background
Danbi was rescued during the devastating forest fires that swept through Uljin, Korea, in March 2022. At the time, he was tied up outside a farmhouse and suffered burns from the fire. After receiving extensive medical treatment and rehabilitation, he spent several years at a local shelter. This spring, he joined us in hopes of finally finding the loving family he deserves.

In Korea, Danbi had little chance of being adopted, but we know his perfect family is out there. He is a gentle, affectionate boy who has overcome so much and is now ready to enjoy the comfort and security of a forever home.

Personality and Socialization
Danbi is a sweet, gentle, and easygoing boy with a calm, low energy personality. He loves lounging in the sun, relaxing outdoors, and simply spending time near his people. While he is generally very laid back, he becomes delightfully cheerful at mealtime. Food and treats are among his favorite things, and he gets excited when it’s time to eat.

With people, Danbi is sweet without being demanding. He enjoys companionship and will happily stand or lie close by, content just being near you. He has a quiet, peaceful presence that makes him a wonderful companion.

Danbi gets along well with other dogs and has lived peacefully alongside them without any issues. He is not particularly interested in playing or interacting with other dogs, preferring instead to relax and do his own thing. He has not been tested with cats, but given his calm and gentle nature, we believe he may be able to live successfully with a cat after a slow and proper introduction.

Behaviours
Danbi is a well mannered and easy companion. He walks nicely on leash and travels well in the car. He behaves calmly during veterinary visits and grooming appointments.

He is fully housetrained and quiet indoors. The only time he may bark is briefly around mealtime when he gets excited about food. These days, one of his favorite activities is lying outside and enjoying a warm sunbath. He appreciates a peaceful routine and loves spending quiet time with his humans.

Health and Diet
Danbi is neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and up to date on his monthly parasite prevention. He previously underwent treatment for burns sustained during the wildfire and has made a full recovery. The only lasting reminder of his past is a small area around his left eye where the hair did not grow back. It is purely cosmetic and does not cause him any discomfort or medical concerns.

Ideal Home
Danbi would be a wonderful addition to many different types of homes. His calm, gentle nature makes him a great match for first time dog guardians, singles, couples, or retirees looking for a loyal companion.

He is not a demanding dog and asks for very little. A safe, loving home, a comfortable place to rest, and people to share his days with are all he needs. In return, Danbi will offer quiet companionship, unwavering loyalty, and endless affection. After everything he has been through, Danbi deserves a family that will cherish him and give him the happy ending he has been waiting for. He is a very special boy with a heart full of love.
