Camu

Background: Camu was rescued from a puppy mill in Boryeong, Korea in the summer of 2023. She spent the next two years in a local shelter, waiting patiently for a family of her own—but sadly, no one came for her. Recently, Camu joined our adoption program, and we’re determined to help her finally find the loving forever home she deserves.

Personality and Socialization: Camu is a gentle soul with a calm and quiet personality. She’s easy to care for and has a lovely, low-to-medium energy level. She enjoys being around people but isn’t clingy or demanding. When she wants your company, she’ll simply walk over and sit quietly beside you. If she wants a bit of affection, she’ll come sit in front of you and gaze up with her sweet eyes—it’s the most heart-melting thing to see.

With other dogs, Camu does well as long as they are calm and gentle. She can get nervous around high-energy or overly playful dogs. She would make a wonderful companion for a senior or laid-back dog—she respects boundaries and prefers to quietly stay close without being intrusive.

Behavior and Temperament: Camu is a smart little poodle who adjusts well to new routines. She’s comfortable in the car, bath time is easy, and she enjoys her leash walks. She’s adaptable and has shown great manners in the home. She rarely barks, except when she feels unsure around unfamiliar people—but even then, she remains quiet and observant rather than reactive. Once she trusts you, she loves relaxing by your side and sharing quiet moments together.

Health and Diet: Camu had a recent dental procedure, including a few tooth extractions, and her dental care is now up to date. She’s spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and on regular monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. She eats dry food twice a day and hasn’t shown any allergies.

Her Ideal Home: Camu’s calm and gentle nature would suit many types of homes. She would thrive with a retired person or a first-time dog parent looking for an easy-going companion. She could also be a great second dog for someone who already has a calm senior pup. Camu is gentle, quiet and loving. We prefer a home where someone is around often, as Camu truly enjoys quiet companionship. After spending the first half of her life in neglect and isolation, she deserves to finally know what it’s like to be loved and never feel lonely again.
