*Note: Hana is with her foster family in Squamish, BC

Hana and her mother were found near Mount Halla in Jeju Island, Korea. Unfortunately, after their rescue her mother was diagnosed with cancer and needed to be moved to a foster home where she could receive more focused care.  Hana was moved to a boarding house, and although she loved her mom very much and was quite attached to her, she settled in very much at the boarding house. She lived for over a year before flying to Canada to find her forever home.

When she was in Korea, Hana was very affectionate towards people and enjoyed receiving pets and attention. Coming to Canada has been a lot of change for her, but she is coming out of her shell and we are seeing her sweet personality emerge again, more and more with each passing day. While understandably shy and confused in the beginning, she has been actively asking her foster for pets and seeking attention more and more.

Hana loves to be outside. Going for walks is one of her favorite activities. She has been very polite and excited to meet other dogs on leash during her walks. It is worth noting that while she was in the shelter in Korea (with 80 other dogs), she mostly tolerated other dogs but was selective and would sometimes react impolitely. We believe the shelter environment was a bit busy, overstimulating and overwhelming for her which would cause her reaction. Due to this, we believe she might prefer to be the only dog, or have 1 other friendly dog who knows how to respect her boundaries when needed.

She is potty trained and a food motivated girl.

Hana’s ideal forever home is with an active family who enjoys hikes and the outdoors as much as she does. She would prefer a more calm and quiet home environment with people who have experience with dogs. She would make a fantastic adventure buddy and companion.
