Our most successful Free Korean Dogs adoption event happened at Wooftown NYC on Saturday, April 22.
Seven beautiful mixed-breed rescue puppies and one adult dog were the spotlight of this event. All of them came from Korea on flights just days beforehand.
Our adoption team arrived early to set the dogs in playpens with training pads, toys, food, and water. To our surprise, Wooftown was already packed with visitors who were excited to meet our dogs!
Despite everything they went through in Korea, the dogs warmed up to the visitors quickly. All of the dogs enjoyed being held by dozens of people and, some dogs (like Aji and Jenni) were begging to be picked up by the end of the event!
The visitors were receptive to our cause and showed compassion towards our dogs. Many visitors told us stories about their own rescue dogs, their awareness of the dog meat trade, and their interest in adopting from us. A couple of our past adopters and their dogs even made appearances: the family of Astro (previously Saho), Bomi (previously Kiss), and Bean.
The event was so busy that we had to extend it for an extra 45 minutes! We ended the day with a total of 46 applications on these eight dogs. As anyone can imagine, it was difficult to decide who would take home our precious dogs because there were so many qualified applicants. After two busy weeks full of interviews and home visits from Gina, the adoption coordinator in NYC, we can happily report that all eight dogs have been adopted and are living in their forever homes!

We would like to end this blog with a big thank you to the wonderful staff at Wooftown. Special shout outs to Hadley and Hannah for helping us with setting up the playpens, supplying the dogs with food, providing training pads, constantly refilling the water bowls, and more! This event would not have been possible without your kindness and accommodations. We are looking forward to more adoption events at Wooftown in the future!
