Say Hello to Guillermo and His Family!

Estefi and Meijun adopted their beloved Guillermo from Free Korean Dogs on February 03, 2017.

In January 2017, the couple started their puppy search. “Estefi and I have been best friends for six years and dating for over two years. We have always been dog lovers and decided that 2017 was the year to take the next step in our relationship by adopting our very own puppy,” explained Meijun.

In late January, Estefi received a message from a friend about an adoptable puppy named Robinson (now Guillermo) featured on PS9 Pet Store’s Instagram page. Estefi and Meijun both immediately fell in love with him once they saw his photo. They contacted Gina, our NY adoption facilitator, and scheduled a meet and greet with him on the same night.

After meeting Guillermo, Estefi and Meijun immediately knew that he was the right dog for them. They filled out the adoption application that same night and crossed their fingers with excitement and anxiety.

“Later that week, our application was approved and so was our home visit! We were so overjoyed. This was actually our first time going through a pet adoption. We dedicated the next few days towards watching YouTube videos, purchasing supplies, and preparing our home for Guillermo.”

On February 03, the couple officially adopted Guillermo and drove home with him. Guillermo was nervous and laid down on Estefi’s lap during the whole ride. Once they arrived home and went to bed, they discovered that Guillermo was best cuddler in the world.

Over the past three months, Guillermo’s personality has really come out. He has become more confident, energetic and playful around others. The lucky puppy joins Meijun at work three days a week and goes to doggy daycare on the other two days. Everyone who sees him falls in love! “He is everyone’s Guillermo and definitely everyone’s favorite.”

We are absolutely ecstatic and grateful to have Guillermo in our lives. We believe that things happen for a reason and adopting Guillermo from a lucky sighting on Instagram is the epitome of that statement. We are truly thankful for everything that Free Korean Dogs has done for all the puppies out there in Korea. Keep up the hard work because dogs make the world a better place, especially at a time like this.
