My name is Onesun

June 14, 2019 by SC 1 Comment

Hey there,

I am a 8-month-old and 16-pound puppy; bred and raised on a dog meat farm in South Korea. Until I was rescued by nice people from a dog rescue organization, I lived in a small, filthy, rusty cage along with my mom and 7 siblings.

My life at the farm was very scary as many of our uncles and aunties were taken away and never returned. Mom always asked us to shut our eyes tight when other dogs were taken into the slaughterhouse, but we could not stop hearing the horrifying sounds.

We felt lucky that none of us were big enough to leave the cage. Mom had been sick for a long time, so they left her alone too. I found out that she was ill from eating bad food. Food was so rare, so it was nice when our food basket was filled but the food smelled so foul and tasted bad. Some of my siblings got sick like mom.

Later after I was rescued, a nice doctor told me that I too have a problem with my kidneys, and I must be on a special diet for the rest of my life. This is very disappointing, but I must admit I am so happy that I got to leave the dog meat farm with my family.

Now I am living at a rescue shelter in Korea. I feel safe and am receiving medical attention that made me feel 100% better.  I got to say, “Kudos to all nice people who rescued us”.

I know it won’t be easy to find people to love and train me since I have all these medical conditions. Perhaps it is wishful thinking to someday live with a nice family who can look into my eyes with love and call my name to play.  My name is Onesun. What is yours?

What good work you do to save these poor babies from such barbarism
