Korean Puppy Mill Rescues Arrive in Toronto

December 25, 2016 by EK Park, Executive Director 3 Comments

It took an 8-hour car ride and a 14-hour flight, but Hoi and Sidney have finally arrived in Toronto. These two dogs rescued from a puppy mill in South Korea got the best Christmas present of all: a loving forever home.

Hoi was near death in KoreaHoi and Sidney were rescued from an illegal puppy mill in Milyang, South Korea. They were sent to the city dog pound where they waited for the day someone would adopt them. That day never came.

Alone, unwanted and a day away from euthanasia, the two rescues were taken into the foster care of Chungsol, a Buddhist nun, and avid animal rescuer. Chungsol turned to Free Korean Dogs to find a forever home for these two precious beings.

Home for the Holidays

That’s where Jamie and Mary come in. Our friend and supporter, Alana Lewis, connected us with Jamie and Mary, who agreed to provide the two puppy mill survivors with forever homes in Canada.

Hoi and Sindey with thei familiesJamie, Mary, Sidney, and Hoi were all united on Christmas morning at Toronto Pearson Airport. It was a long and difficult journey from the illegal puppy mill in Korea, but these two dogs are now safe and sound in their adoptive homes.

We were able to find the loving homes these two precious puppies deserve, but there are so many more dogs still suffering in the puppy mills and dog farms of Korea. Please help us find loving forever homes for all the dogs in Korea.

Donate now to help us save more dogs like Sidney and Hoi.

Hello. We live in southern California We recently lost our little 4 lb female maltese after14 years. We are heartbroken. We live in a one story house with 4 adults, my husband & I & 2 adult daughters. I’ve been told at our local rescue they want their dogs especially the little dogs to go to homes with other dogs. Is that true?. We have always had little dogs & given all our dogs lots of love & take them everywhere with us. They are never left alone. We have a large one story house & fenced yard.
We have always bought our little ones here in California but after hearing about these poor dogs going to a meat farm to be eaten we decided to look into adopting one of these poor little ones.
“Life Animal Rescue” in Agoura Calif has told us 3 times they should be in a home with other dogs. One little poodle “Budul” came in on Dec 11th to Agoura. Ca. He’s adorable but again they said he needs to be with other dogs. Do you feel the same way? . I feel giving them human love & safety in a forever home is the most important & what they deserve after the terrible life they have had. Thank you for reading my letter
