Four Korean Rescue Dogs Arrived in Toronto

February 11, 2017 by Brittany McCann 1 Comment

We are ecstatic to welcome this group of dogs to Toronto on February 10th. These four babies all found their loving homes

In November, we shared Ms. Jung’s story of dedication with the world. Our hopes were to spread awareness of her amazing efforts and raise donations to help her continue her life saving work. We are thrilled to announce that 45 people generously donated a total of $1,965USD (2570.71CAD) to Ms. Jung. She has decided to use these funds to bring 4 dogs to Canada. Among the four dogs are Oliver and Brownie, 5-month-old puppies dumped at Hannah Shelter in Daegu, Korea, Chungdo (poodle) and Dacsoon (Dachshund), who were rescued from abusive and neglectful owners. The total cost of transport for these four dogs was $3462.36CAD. If you would like to contribute to this extensive transport expense please click HERE. We are a 100% donation funded organization and the support of our community is invaluable to us.

About Brittany McCann

Brittany graduated from the State University of New York College at Buffalo in 2012 with her degree in Public Communication. After moving to Fort Worth, TX in 2014 she quickly noticed the alarming amount of homeless and discarded animals in the Lone Star State. She began volunteering for her local animal shelter taking photos of dogs scheduled for euthanasia in hopes of finding them homes. With a dream to do even more she began fostering, transporting and fundraising for a large dog rescue. Since beginning her volunteer efforts Brittany has saved countless animals and worked with her community to raise thousands in funds and donations for the Fort Worth Animal Shelter and local non-profits.

On February 8th 2016 we lost our sweet Gypsy after 12 amazing years together. We found Gypsy on Jeju island, wandering about in a snow storm at 2 months old. She was the most amazing dog and brought us and everyone she met in Korea and Canada so much joy. So imagine my surprise when 2 days after she passed away, I saw the post about Oliver arriving in Toronto, with the exact same face! I had never seen a dog like Gypsy, in 10 years in Korea. It gave me the chills. I wish Oliver’s new owner the same joy, love and companionship that we were blessed to have with our dog and feel a little like Gypsy’s legacy lives on.
