Fate: When you know, you know

May 29, 2020 by Sara Liao, Board of Directors & Adoption Manager Leave a Comment

If you believe in soulmates and you’re a dog lover, you know that some dogs and humans are meant to cross paths. Little did we know, our perfect matches were living on the other side of the ocean. After visiting the Free Korean Dogs website, we found the cutest duo on the planet named Mickey and Misha (now Jiro and Emi). We decided to adopt them both!

We went through the phone interview with Carrie and had a home visit from Will. They were both so knowledgeable and passionate about dogs. The adoption process continued with emails from EK who was a delight to communicate with. In a very short time, the twins’ plane tickets were booked and off they went to Toronto! We cannot thank FKD enough for the constant support they provide to make sure our babies are getting the best care! Since the arrival of the twins, our lives have changed completely. Carrie was right; we had a good feeling about this match, and it was a match from heaven.

It’s now been 4 months since our babies came into our lives. We are happy to report that Jiro and Emi are now living their best lives in Toronto and being spoiled. They have adapted so well to the climate in Canada. Our babies now have their Instagram account (@chiweening) so we can capture these moments and share them with the world! Here are some pictures!

These two have very human-like facial expressions and attitudes. Every morning they give each other kisses. They constantly play together and they are really inseparable. Jiro is the stronger one, and protects Emi when there are other dogs around. He’s still suspicious of people in general. Emi, on the other hand, is miss social butterfly; she kisses everyone. The cutest thing is when she wraps her arms around Jiro and hugs him to sleep. The love they have for each other is absolutely heartwarming.

We are so pleased with this FKD as an adoption and rescue organization that we will continue to support them in any way we can.
