Get monthly updates about dogs like Nino and follow their journey from suffering to a forever-loving home.
Background: Nino was rescued from a city pound in Chuncheon, Korea, last spring as part of our “Save 100 Dogs” project. After spending some time in a shelter, he recently moved to our partner boarding house.
Personality and Socialization: Nino is a sweet, low-energy boy who thrives on human companionship. He loves being petted and enjoys simply hanging out with his people. Very affectionate and obedient, he gets along well with men, women, and even strangers. However, Nino isn’t very interested in other dogs, likely due to his long stay in the shelter—about six years. He avoids conflict and stays away from dogs overly bossy or energetic. He would be happiest in a home with no other pets or perhaps with calm, senior dogs who are gentle like him. Nino has no experience with cats or young children.
Behavior: Nino is excellent in the car, during baths, and at the vet. He loves the attention he gets from the vet and staff, and his good behavior always earns him plenty of treats! Though he’s generally quiet, Nino may bark when he’s happy or excited, like when he sees his favorite humans or when he wants affection.
Health: Nino is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on his vaccinations. He also takes monthly preventatives for internal and external parasites. He’s healthy and ready for his forever home.
Ideal Home: Nino would thrive in a home where his people are around most of the time—retirees or those who work from home would be perfect. A family that enjoys a calm, relaxing lifestyle and cherishes spending time with their dog would suit him best. While he could live with another gentle, senior dog, Nino would truly shine as the only pet, soaking up all the love, attention, and care he deserves.
