Capu 3

Background: Capu was one of seven poodles rescued from a farm last fall, where they had been chained and neglected—likely hidden by a suspected puppy mill owner. Thankfully, they were saved and brought to a private shelter, where they spent a few months recovering. Earlier this year, they moved to our boarding house to continue their journey toward finding a loving home.

Personality and Socialization: Capu embodies the classic poodle traits—affectionate, social, and adaptable. She has a medium energy level and enjoys human companionship. Always ready for cuddles, Capu isn’t shy around strangers and loves being close to her people. She is intelligent, obedient, and gentle, making her a wonderful companion.

With other dogs, Capu is friendly and enjoys playtime, especially with smaller, gentle dogs. However, she prefers a calm environment and can be uncomfortable around hyper or dominant dogs. She enjoys socializing but also values her quiet time to relax.

Behaviour: Capu is well-behaved in the car, during baths, and at vet visits. She is generally quiet but may bark a little at mealtime out of excitement. While her leash-walking experience is limited, she follows her handler well and is eager to learn. Capu adjusts well to new environments and loves routine.

Health and Diet: Capu is spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. When rescued, she had heartworms, but she has completed her treatment and is now healthy and happy. She takes monthly parasite preventatives, and all her parasite tests, including heartworm, are negative. Capu eats dry kibble twice a day and has no known allergies.

Ideal Home: Capu thrives in a quiet home where she can be the center of attention. She would do best with someone who is home most of the time, whether retired or working from home. While she enjoys the company of other dogs, she would be happiest as the only pet in a calm environment where she can fully relax. This sweet, affectionate girl is ready to bring endless love and joy to her forever family!
