Background: Last summer in Daegu, Korea, Candy was found tied to a pole on a scorching rooftop with no shade, no water, and only a short leash. The temperature reached 38°C during the day, and she suffered in silence, crying through the nights and surviving on scraps of human food waste. It was heartbreaking to witness. It took weeks to convince her owner to surrender her. Finally, Candy was freed from that rooftop and brought into our care. Since then, Candy has been living safely at our boarding house, surrounded by other dogs and getting the love she deserves.

Personality and Socialization: Candy is an affectionate, high-energy girl who absolutely lives for human attention. She loves to cuddle, snuggle, and follow her people around—whatever you’re doing, she wants to be part of it. With dogs, she gets along just fine and has never shown aggression, but she’s not particularly interested in playing with them. Her heart belongs to people. She hasn’t had any experience with cats or children, so we’re unsure how she’d respond to them.

Behaviour: Although she loves being around her humans, Candy is independent and does well when left alone. She’s calm and rarely barks. She’s well-behaved at the vet, does well in the car, and tolerates baths. But her absolute favorite thing in the world? Walks. She loves going for walks with people.

Health and Diet: When Candy was first rescued, she tested positive for heartworms. Thankfully, she completed treatment and is now completely healthy. She’s spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and takes monthly parasite preventatives. She eats dry kibble twice a day and has no known allergies.

Her Ideal Home: Candy is looking for a family who can spend lots of time with her. She would thrive with someone who enjoys an active lifestyle and wants a loyal, affectionate companion to share it with. Candy is smart, loving, and always ready for the next adventure—especially if it means being by your side. Anyone who adopts this loving girl will be very lucky.
