Our second adoption event takes place on December 10th at PS9 Pet Store in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Come see the Jeju Island puppies rescued from the Korean dog meat trade.
On Saturday, November 12th Free Korean Dogs held their first of two adoption events in Williamsburg, Brooklyn at PS9 Pet Store. Williamsburg is a popular part of Brooklyn filled with millennials, entrepreneurs, artists and the community has a huge heart for rescued animals.
Eight of our shy Jeju puppies arrived the day before in NYC, tired and hopeful of finding a permanent loving forever home far away from the danger of the dog meat trade in South Korea. After resting safely and comfortably at their loving foster homes in Queens, the first of two adoption events kicked off the next day with everyone arriving at noon to set up. Little did we know when we arrived, there would already be interested adopters lined up and waiting for us!
As we were setting up more enthusiastic fans ooh’d and aww’d at the innocent shy faces of our rescues babies. Many compassionate people listened intently to our message about the plight of dogs in Korea. Much love in the form of hugs, kisses and cuddles were given to the puppies and as the day went on our shy babies turned into quite the social butterflies! For the next 5 hours a steady stream of adopters and applications came in, with some just wanting to hug a puppy for a feel good moment!
Special thanks to Joan from PS9 Pet Store who welcomed our dogs with open arms, our FKD volunteers and FKD fosters in NYC for helping these puppies find their way into the loving arms of their wonderful new parents! Five of our puppies went home and update us regularly on their progress and we look forward to our next adoption event on December 10th at PS9 Pet Store!
Thank you so much for what you are doing for all the dogs, you are truly their hero, wish that is more Gina in this world.
