Yijin was one of seven dogs who was rescued from a hoarding situation in Hongsung, Korea. They were locked in a room and lived in unsanitary conditions. One day, their owner got into an accident and was hospitalized. The dogs were left alone with no food or water until a neighbor discovered them several weeks later. By that time, it was too late and five dogs were found deceased. The seven surviving dogs were sent to live at our partner boarding house.

Yijin is a very affectionate and sweet girl who likes to give kisses, receive pets, and stay close to people. However, it does take her a few days to warm up to new people and environments. Due to her traumatizing past, Yijin does not like to be confined in small spaces or rooms, and can be quite the escape artist.

She is generally quiet, but can bark when nervous or unsettled. She loves to go for walks, and loves to play with other dogs. She is particularly fond of small white dogs which we believe might remind her of her mother.

Her ideal adopter is with someone who has experience with dogs and has the patience and understanding to let her settle in slowly at her own pace. A home where someone is home most of the day would be best, as Yijin still feels insecure on her own. We are specifically looking for a home where Yijin will have another small, friendly, and playful sibling as she grew up with siblings and seems to be happier with other dogs.
She is currently with a foster in Toronto.
